The ShockLog® Satellite is a state-of-the-art technology that incorporates the features of the ShockLog® 298 impact recorder and a satellite communication module capable of delivering impact recording asset location and real-time reporting. The data logger is ideal for applications that involve medical devices and supplies, packaging and crating, electronics, water treatment, and logistics.

The ShockLog® Satellite functions to monitor and report vibration, impact events, internal temperature, peak value (time slot), and a summary of period journey profile data. With the use of the satellite module, users can locate their goods at any time of the day. When an unacceptable condition is detected, the data logger sends out real-time email or text alerts to users for immediate action. Highly customisable as well, users can set and receive an asset location report every four hours. This reassures suppliers by assigning accountability when the goods have been damaged during the supply chain.

This versatile device is also pre-programmed with parameters optimised for assets, allowing users to customise the impact recorder’s settings, such as frequency filters and impact scale. Pre-programmed configurations enable the data logger to record up to 108 events when at the highest sampling rate and 870 events when at the lowest sampling rate. At the end of the supply chain journey, the data can be downloaded for analysis. The ShockLog Report View provides an overview of the entire journey, including peak acceleration values for all X, Y, and Z-axis reported on a timely basis and a detailed impact curve. This suggests where and when mishandling has occurred, allowing improvement such as better route planning and damage reduction to be made. For applications, the ShockLog® Satellite is to be attached to goods for data recording during shipping and transit.
