Proximity Alert Components are a range of additional devices, that includes, magnetic field generators, light and audio warning modules, personal alarm device chargers, and other pieces of equipment. These devices are designed for specific work environments that utilise forklift equipment. Om Mas’s proximity alert components provide business with several options for customisable solutions.

Truck Systems

Magnetic Field Generator System – Complete

The Magnetic Fied Generator is a complete system made up of 4 different components, which includes the Generator, the Warning Module, the Cab Silencer and the Power Cable.

  1. The Generator forms a pulsing magnetic field that serves as a marker around the truck.
  2. The Warning Module provides the driver with visual and audible warning (103 dB) when a pedestrian wearing a Personal Alarm Device (PAD) is within the magnetic field of the truck.
  3. The Cab Silencer allows the driver to wear a PAD but prevents the alarm from going off while driving. 
  4. The Power Chord channels the 12V needed for the system from a source on the truck downstream from the ignition. The blue light on the generator shows that power is running to the unit, while the orange light shows a pedestrian warning.
Magnetic Field Generator System with Collision Avoidance Module (CAM)

The Magnetic Field Generator is a complete system that includes the Generator, Warning Module, Cab Silencer and Power Cable.

  1. The Generator creates a pulsing magnetic field that provides a marker around the truck.
  2. The Warning Module provides the driver with a visual and audio warning (103dB) when a pedestrian wearing a Personal Alarm Device is within the magnetic field of the truck.
  3. The Cab Silencer allows the driver to wear a PAD but prevents the alarm from going off while driving.
  4. The Power Cord channels the 12V needed for the system from a source on the truck downstream from the ignition. The blue light on the generator shows power is running to the unit, while the orange light indicates pedestrian warning.

Together with this, an additional component, known as the Collision Avoidance Module, can be installed to alert drivers when other trucks are close to the CAM.

XL Magnetic Field Generator System – Complete

The XL Magnetic Field Generator System comes with 4 different components which make up the system, which includes the XL Generator, Warning Module, Cab Silencer and Power Cable.

  • The XL Generator generates a pulsing magnetic field that provides a market around the truck.
  • The Warning Module offers the driver with visual and audible warning (103 dB) when a pedestrian wearing a Personal Alarm Device (PAD) is within the magnetic field of the truck.
  • The Cab Silencer allows the driver to wear a PAD but prevents the alarm from going off while driving. 
  • The Power Cord channels 12V or 24V needed for the system from a source on the truck downstream from the ignition. The blue light on the generator indicates that power is running to the unit. By choosing an XL Generator using 24V, the marker around the truck can extend up to ~100ft for the warning zone.
Warning Module – Light/Sound

The warning module – light/sound provides drivers with both audio and visual warning when there is a pedestrian nearby while driving in reverse. With the audio warning rated at 103dB, this product connects chains directly in the warning module with light and sound (included in the MFG system).                                     

Warning Module – Light Only

This version of the warning module only provides users with a visual warning when a pedestrian is walking behind the driver, giving enough time to prevent the collision. This product can be connected directly in the warning module with light and sound (included in the MFG system).

Cab Silencer

The Cab Silencer is installed to the Magnetic Field Generator System to silence a vehicle operators Personal Alarm Device (PAD) from detecting magnetic fields from other Magnetic Field Generators nearby. The Cab Silencer hence enables the automatic disabling of the operator’s PAD when in the protected area of the vehicle’s cab.

 

Personal Alarm Devices

10 Port Charger

The battery within the Personal Alarm Device (PAD), is required to be fully charged daily. The 10 Port Charger comes in 3 different channels: Single Bay (to charge 1 PAD), 5-BAY (Charges up to 5 PADs at a time) and 10 Bay (Charges up to 10 PADs at a time).

Checkout Station

The Checkout Station helps to verify the functionality of various devices, ensuring they are in working condition. These devices include the Personal Alarm Device, Sounder, Magnetic Field Sensors, LED and Battery Charger.

PAD Test Module

The PAD Test Module ensures all Personal Alarm Devices are functioning properly, minimising workplace hazards as a result of device malfunction.

In addition, the PAD Test Module serves as a reminder for employees to charge their PAD daily. The PAD Test Module is supplied with a Test Station, Power Cable and Warning Module, which are best suited for warehouses where forklifts and other vehicles are used.

The Relay system analyses operational performance and proximity events data, providing business with efficient data collection and reporting.

The Data Module analyses operational performance and proximity events data, providing users with efficient data collection and reporting.

 

Area Control

Structure Monitor

The Structure Monitor protects permanent structures that are in constant repair or are expensive to replace. It can be used as a standalone device when a solar panel is added or connected to a 110Vac.

How it works

The Structure Monitor sense the generator on the truck as it approaches and sends a warning signal back to the truck. The arc length around the Structure Monitor can be adjusted easily by taking off the top cover and slightly turning the pot with a 3/32″ slotted screwdriver.

Access Monitor

The Access Monitor enables employers who are wearing a Personal Alarm Device (PAD) access into controlled areas. This serves as a reminder to employees to ensure daily charge of their PAD and prevents any misplacement of device. When the Access Monitor detects the presence of a PAD, it sends a command to a relay box and fixture with an on/off mechanism, controlling the gates to open or close. 

The Access Monitor is supplied with a Power Cable, Warning Module and Relay. 

Area Monitor

Used as a standalone device or in conjunction with the MAC-A system, the Area Monitor is able to produce visual and audio warning alarms to workers of an approaching truck. It is best used at intersection and pedestrian areas with blind corners.

The length of the area around the monitor is adjustable and can be done by taking off the top cover and slightly turning the pot with a 3/32″ slotted screwdriver. 

The Area Monitor is supplied with a Relay box and 50 ft of 18/2 Thermostate wire. However, lights are not included.

Mechanized Area Control

The Mechanized Area Control (MAC) comes in two specifications,

Mechanized Area Control – A 

The MAC-A System requires the truck entering the area, equipped with a Magnetic Field Generator System with Collision Avoidance Module (CAM) and the workers to wear a Personal Alarm Device (PAD). When all 3 devices are used simultaneously, it keeps pedestrians and equipment separated, preventing them from occupying the controlled area at the same time.

How it works

The MAC-A System is capable of generating an adjustable magnetic field suspended about 11 ft at above the designated area, up to 30 ft wide, and can extend up to 160″ in length. On the other hand, the Collision Avoidance Module senses the magnetic field from the MAC, activating warning alerts such as lights, horns, etc. Thus, when all workers wearing the Personal Alarm Device are out of the magnetic field of the MAC-A System, the truck will be able to enter the area.

The MAC-A System is supplied with a MAC Controller, 2 relay boxes, MAC system up to 160 ft of conduit and wire. However, lights are not included.

Mechanized Area Control – Z

In comparison to the MAC-A System which gives off warning alerts when both pedestrian and truck enters the controlled area, the MAC-Z System prevents the Personal Alarm Devices (PAD) worn by workers from sounding when they are in the protected area. 

How it works

The MAC-Z System generates an adjustable magnetic field suspended at about 11 ft above the designated area, up to 30 ft wide and can extend up to 160″ in length.

*For areas extending over 160″, users would need to purchase an additional MAC-Z System.*

When all workers wearing Personal Alarm Devices is in the magnetic field of the MAC-Z System, a truck can enter the area without triggering the alarm.

 

Silent Zones

Silent Zone

The Room Silent Zone/Jammer creates an area where the Personal Alarm Devices will not activate even when a truck equipped with a generator is nearby. Common areas that need a Room Silent Zone include office(s), conference rooms, workrooms, or cafeteria that are located next to a truck path.

How it works

The silent field is oval-shaped and can be easily adjusted to fit within the confines of the room by removing the top cover and turning the PWM pot. As the magnetic field penetrates walls and other obstructions, all Personal Alarm Devices worn within the field of the Room Silent Zone will not activate.

The Jammer is an alternative to the Room Silent Zone when the EMI noise is too high. The radius of the field (major axis) for the Room Silent Zoon and Jammer is between 6 ft to 28 ft.

Silent Spot

As compared to the Room Silent Zone/Jammer, the Silent Sot is designed for smaller areas that are near to a truck path. Covering an area of just 2 ft to 9 ft, the Silent Spot can be used in areas such as workstations, desk(s), or personal work areas.

How it works

Since magnetic fields can penetrate walls and other obstructions, using the Silent Spot can prevent Personal Alarm Devices worn by workers from activating. The silent field is circle shaped and can be easily adjusted to fit within the confines of designated areas by removing the top cover and turning the PWM pot. Thus, the Silent Spot is a great alternative to the Room Silent Zone/Jammer when the EMI noise is too high.
